I hold a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Gonzaga University, along with minors in Philosophy, Mathematics, and German. I've been tutoring for 17 years, beginning when I was still a student myself. I have tutored in a wide range of subject areas, including all of those listed above, but my preference is for mathematics. From Arithmetic to Calculus, I greatly enjoy helping students develop an understanding of numbers, manipulation, and problem solving. I love to help people achieve their potential, and in the tutoring arena that often includes uncovering a capacity for learning. I know that each student has a unique style of learning. In addition, each brings a different set of strengths and weaknesses. One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is adapting my methods to engage with every new student in the way that works best for him or her. In fact, I've often had the greatest degree of success with those students whose unique needs forced me to re-invent my approach. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, hiking a good trail, dancing, crocheting, and reading a good book.
